Dr. Jasmin is a molecular biologist with PhD in Biotechnology (2008) from Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT), India. Dr. Jasmin is a recipient of various postdoctoral fellowships such as Women Scientist A of Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, Dr. D.S Kothari postdoctoral fellowship of University Grants Commission, Govt of India and Dr. Varghese Kurian Special postdoctoral Fellowship of Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment, Government of Kerala. For the past 10 years, she has been working on biotechnological potentials of host-associated microorganism in coral reef and estuarine ecosystems. Currently she is working as a Women Scientist-B at Nansen Environmental Research Centre (India).

Dr. Jasmin have more than 15 years of research experience in the area of molecular microbiology; her postdoctoral researches were conducted in premier institutes in Science and technology in India such as DBT-Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology, Cochin University of Science and Technology and CSIR-National Institute of Oceanography. Also, she has attended a couple training programs in latest techniques in India as well as abroad. She has 40 publications in peer reviewed international journals.
